More Problems For Penarth - From Soup Lunches To Shop Closure
Hello there. Hope you’re feeling well.
I’ve chatted before about Penarth, the town where I live, and that despite it’s trendy ambience it has not been immune to the cost of living crisis affecting us all. After all in the five years I’ve lived here for example it’s gone from five banks and two building societies to two building societies.
I had to go to the town today to arrange a hair appointment and to get a Mother’s Day card whilst I was there.
And I walked to the town. Takes about twenty minutes. Weather was dry (which let me tell you hasn’t been as reliable in weeks)
There were two sights which shocked me.
Now let me say first that I’m not a religious man so this will sound contradictorily. But I do like a church to look like a church and not have some “modern design” thrust onto it. Penarth does have a number of such churches and the Stanwell Road Baptist church is one of them.
But the thing that made me pause was not the architecture but the sign in front.
